About UsVECTOR is the City of Vancouver's amateur radio program. VECTOR is somewhat unique in that it is not an amateur radio club, but a community service organization that includes both licensed amateur radio operators and other communications volunteers involved in the city emergency program.
VECTOR is co-located with the City of Vancouver's Emergency Operations Centre at the E-Comm 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Centre. E-Comm provides telecommunications services for emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance) within Metro Vancouver and other areas.VECTOR is the primary backup emergency communications provider for the City of Vancouver, and when not deployed within the City, may be available to assist in other areas of the Province. VECTOR is a registered non-profit society. Full membership is offered to licensed amateur radio operators; affiliate membership is open to amateur radio clubs or organizations, associate membership is for unlicensed volunteers who wish to assist; and corporate membership is for businesses and corporations who wish to support VECTOR. |
