Field Day

Field Day is an International Amateur Radio Event where operators around the world compete at various different levels to make as many contacts as possible.

VECTOR uses Field Day primarily to practice setting up our field operations in the event that we are unable to use our primary location. We have several members that also compete in the Field Day contest, and we encourage new amateur radio operators to participate to gain experience using the various equipment and modes of communication that are available to us.

Come out and join us, learn more about VECTOR, Amateur Radio, Emergency Communications and more.

We will once again be setting up at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. Setup begins Friday morning. Come join us and find out how and why we participate in Field Day. The 2010 Field Day contest begins at 1100 hours local time on Saturday and runs for 24 hours. We will begin to take down our field operation on Sunday at 1100 hours. VECTOR members and other amateur radio operators are encouraged to come out and participate. The public is also welcome to attend and learn about Amateur Radio and Emergency Communications. You can also try out the radios and make contacts around the world.
